Product Overview

VNN3NV04PTR-E is a VIPower™ M0-3 monolithic low-side power switch from ST OMNIFET II series. It integrates N-channel MOSFET, control logic and full protection on one die. With 40V internal clamp and 3.5A continuous output, it safeguards MCU circuits driving inductive/capacitive loads. Built-in linear current limit, auto-restart thermal shutdown and inductive energy clamp prevent short-circuit, overload and reverse EMF damage. Compact SOT-223 package fits automotive, industrial and smart appliance control boards.

Core Advantages

Comprehensive Monolithic Protection

On-die integrated thermal shutdown, linear current limitation and inductive voltage clamp, protecting the chip from short-circuit and overload damage.

Direct MCU Logic Interface

Low input current design supports direct drive from 3.3V / 5V MCU IO pins without extra level shifting circuits.

Built-in Inductive Load Clamp

Internal drain-gate active clamp absorbs reverse EMF energy during turn-off, eliminating external freewheeling diodes for most inductive applications.

Compact SOT-223 SMD Package

Low-profile multi-pin surface mount package saves PCB layout space and fits automated SMT pick-and-place production.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q1: Are VNN3NV04PTR-E units in stock genuine original factory parts?

A: All VNN3NV04PTR-E switches are brand-new original STMicroelectronics products. Every batch passes traceability inspection and ships with factory anti-static moisture-proof packaging.

Q2: What is the difference between discrete low-side MOSFET and OMNIFET II VNN3NV04PTR-E?

A: Standard discrete MOSFETs are easily damaged by short circuit or overheating. OMNIFET II integrates full protection circuits on silicon die. When overcurrent or overtemperature faults occur, VNN3NV04PTR-E limits output current or triggers thermal shutdown automatically until faults are cleared to protect itself and upstream MCU.

Q3: Do I need an external flyback diode when driving inductive solenoid loads?

A: External clamping diodes are unnecessary for most low/medium-power inductive loads. The built-in 40V minimum active voltage clamp safely dissipates inductive turn-off energy inside the chip.

Q4: How to get official datasheets, CAD models and bulk wholesale pricing?

A: Fill in the quick inquiry form with your project parameters. Our application engineering team will send complete technical materials and volume quotation within 24 hours.
