Product Overview

VL160 is a compact low-power 4-to-2 differential signal multiplexer from VIA Labs, designed for reversible USB Type-C signal routing. It fully supports USB 3.1 Gen 2 10Gbps high-speed differential lanes, compatible with Alternate Mode protocols including DisplayPort and PCIe. Optimized low parasitic layout delivers low insertion loss and high crosstalk isolation to maintain stable signal integrity on PCB traces. Packaged in mini QFN-28, it fits notebooks, docking stations, Type-C adapters and portable consumer electronics with limited board space.

Core Advantages

10 Gbps High-Speed Signal Support

Compliant with USB 3.1 Gen2 standard, stable multiplexing for 10Gbps differential signals with low jitter and zero packet loss.

Dedicated USB Type-C Alternate Mode Routing

Auto routes multi-protocol differential lanes to match Type-C plug orientation, seamless transmission for DP video and high-speed data signals.

Excellent High-Frequency Signal Integrity

Low insertion loss, high inter-channel isolation and controlled return loss, stable eye diagram performance for high-frequency PCB wiring.

Low Power Consumption Design

Low active and standby supply current reduces device heat generation and extends battery life for portable devices.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q1: Is your VL160 stock 100% original?

A: All supplied VL160 ICs are brand-new genuine VIA Labs components, shipped with standard ESD anti-static packaging.

Q2: Can VL160 switch non-USB high-speed differential signals?

A: Yes. It is a protocol-independent differential switch, compatible with DisplayPort and PCIe signals within its rated voltage and frequency range.

Q3: How does VL160 handle reversible Type-C plug signal routing?

A: Type-C plugs support forward and reverse insertion. VL160 dynamically swaps its 4-to-2 differential TX/RX signal lanes via hardware control pins to automatically match plug orientation.

Q4: How can I get layout files, engineering samples and bulk quotation?

A: Submit your project demands via the online inquiry form, our technical team will provide full technical documents and wholesale pricing within 24 hours.
