Product Overview
The IST8310 is a high-performance 3-axis digital geomagnetic sensor developed by Isentek, adopting advanced Anisotropic Magnetoresistive (AMR) sensing technology. It integrates 3 orthogonal magnetic sensing elements, a 14-bit high-precision ADC, temperature compensation circuit and built-in self-test module inside a tiny 3.0×3.0×1.0mm LGA-16 package. This chip only supports I2C Fast Mode 400kHz communication without SPI function, providing ±1.6mT magnetic measuring range for X/Y axes and ±2.5mT for Z axis. With ultra-low sleep current and multiple selectable working modes, it is widely used for drone flight control, robot navigation, wearable positioning and AR/VR tracking equipment.
Core Advantages
High Precision AMR Sensing Technology
Higher sensitivity and lower noise than traditional Hall-effect magnetometers, delivering stable heading output for navigation systems.
Single I2C Bus Simplified Design
Pure I2C interface without SPI, fewer peripheral components, simple PCB layout and easy MCU integration.
Multi-Mode Low Power Control
Support continuous measurement, single sampling and sleep mode, sleep current only 0.1μA to extend battery life of portable devices.
Built-In Calibration Auxiliary Circuit
On-chip temperature compensation and BIST self-test reduce post-production calibration workload and improve long-term stability.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q1: Are IST8310 sensors genuine original Isentek stock?
A: All inventory chips are brand new original Isentek factory parts, shipped in ESD anti-static packaging with complete batch traceability.
Q2: Does IST8310 support SPI communication interface?
A: No, this model only supports I2C Fast Mode up to 400kHz, SPI bus is not integrated inside the chip.
Q3: What is the advantage of AMR magnetometer compared with Hall effect compass?
A: AMR technology has higher sensitivity, lower noise and smaller zero drift, effectively avoiding heading drift caused by motor electromagnetic interference on drones.
Q4: How to reduce magnetic interference on PCB layout?
A: Place IST8310 far away from DC-DC power chips, large inductors, lithium batteries and iron metal structural parts to reduce stray magnetic field interference.
