The VS1003B-L is a single-chip audio codec slave IC from VLSI Solution for low-cost embedded audio devices. It integrates a VSDSP4 DSP core to decode MP3, WMA, WAV, MIDI and encode IMA ADPCM voice signals from mic/line input. Equipped with 18-bit oversampling stereo DAC and integrated headphone amplifier, it communicates with host MCU via dual SPI bus (SCI for control, SDI for audio stream). All audio decoding/encoding calculations run on-chip to reduce MCU load, compatible with basic 8-bit controllers.
