The XR16L788CQ-F, manufactured by MaxLinear (formerly Exar), is an integrated octal UART designed for multi-channel serial communication. It features eight independent full-duplex channels supporting up to 6.25 Mbps. Each channel comes with a 64-byte TX/RX FIFO to reduce CPU load. It supports pin-selectable Intel/Motorola bus interface, automatic hardware & software flow control and auto RS-485 direction control.
