The 88AP310-BGK2 belongs to Marvell PXA3xx (Monahans) multimedia processor family, inherited from Intel XScale PXA series after Marvell acquired Intel’s embedded processor business in Nov 2006. Built on 65nm process with XScale ARMv5TE core running up to 624MHz, this system-on-chip targets portable handheld, biometric, industrial HMI and battery-powered embedded equipment.

On-chip dedicated video hardware accelerates H.264 Baseline, MPEG-4, VC-1/WMV9 decoding to offload main CPU. Dynamic voltage & frequency scaling (DVFS) and multi-level sleep modes drastically extend battery life. Packaged in compact LFBGA-340, it integrates full set of display, camera, memory and serial peripherals to reduce BOM cost and PCB size.
